Description
Flameware Grill Basket or Grill Pan Sized for 1 or 2
Just like its 11-12 inch big brother but a bit smaller to fit meals for 1 or 2. Inward curve on wall keeps foods from hopping out. Easy to serve.
The NewClay Pottery Flameware Grill Basket was invented by Tom in about 2008. Up until that time there were only stamped metal pans and they transmitted heat so fast they tended to burn food before it got cooked.
Betsy had bought me a metal one, but I was always frustrated because food went from raw to burned in a flash.
So one day I grilled some vegetables with the usual burning problem.
But I had just made some Flameware skillets that day, and wondered. And so the next day I went down and drilled some holes in one of those skillets. After firing and finishing it was the world’s first clay Flameware Grill Basket. Clay is an insulator and transmits heat more slowly so that the Flameware Ceramic Grill Basket cooks beautifully over the outdoor grill, charcoal or gas.
I changed the skillet handle so the Grill Basket fits under the grill cover, and pulled the side up, and put a slight inward curve so food doesn’t spill out.
It’s perfect for grilling vegetables, shrimp…anything you might otherwise have to put on a skewer. It’s also a wonder for making fajitas. Now you just lightly oil the grill pan (I use spray olive oil), and put in your food.
And for me, the best thing you can grill is potatoes. Or maybe asparagus, or a veggie medley,, hmmmm. Trust me. Oh, and remember how fish sticks to grills and falls apart? Well, that’s all over with in your new Flameware Grill Basket.
You may want to think about getting both a 12 inchGrill Basket and this smaller sized grill basket. The big one for meats or lots of veggies, and the little one for an appetizer or side dish
