Now that I’m “retired”, I will be able to do more custom work than ever before. Different sizes, new ideas, pots that work with your lifestyle and interests. But! Custom work takes time. The whole pottery process takes 2 weeks to throw, dry and trim, a week to get through the first firing, a week to glaze and fire… and that assumes nothing goes wrong. As I write, I’ve got an order for a daubiere to make daube’s in. It’s a French pot with a large round bottom, a tall straight neck and a unique lid. I don’t know at this point if I can even throw it. I may have to invent a way to assemble it from two separate pieces. And someone just mentioned the my regular French butter dish is too big if you’re just one or two people or don’t use much butter. So if you’ve got ideas for new, different, or a special piece, c’mon by. We’ll talk. Just consider me as “your potter”!
